Contributing and helping by becoming an animal rights advocate is very simple and doesn’t require anything special on your part. If you have a passion for helping animals, that’s more than enough!

Here are some things you can do to help animals without ever having to leave your home.

How to do more for animal welfare from your home

If you want to help animals and become an animal rights advocate, you might be surprised to know that you can do all of this from your own home.

You don’t even have to go outside to make a difference and lend a hand. It can be as simple as posting animal rights information on your social media channels or actively contributing to animal shelters and programs in your community.

There are many things you can do, so why not help?

Make a donation

Donating is a great way to help animal welfare if you can. Donations can go to a number of very worthwhile programs aimed at helping all kinds of animals.

You can always research online to find the best places to donate, or you can simply, donate to your local animal programs. Animal shelters are always happy to receive donations to help them manage all the animals in the shelter.

Just be very careful when donating online and make sure you understand exactly where your money is going. You can even donate to websites that raise animal rights awareness and help people become animal rights advocates.

To raise awareness

You can easily raise animal welfare awareness from the comfort of your own home. It can be as simple as creating a blog or posting a commentary on animal rights.

You can easily start your own blog where you talk about wildlife issues. Or you can use your social media presence to do so.

Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram are all great places to raise awareness. You can post about animal rights, comment on other people’s posts, or share an article. Remember to be nice to it!

The online world is one of the best places to stand up for what you believe in and gives you such a wide audience to reach.

You might even become a guest contributor or blogger for animal rights or vegan websites. This allows you to get your name out there and get your name out there!

Adopt a vegan diet

Adopting a vegan diet is quite possibly the best and most effective way to help animal welfare, especially when you think of all the animals a vegan diet can help.

By adopting a vegan diet, you decrease the demand for cows, pigs and chickens that have to suffer for animal products. Going vegan can have such an incredible impact, even if you can’t see it for yourself.

Every person who goes vegan saves hundreds of lives every year by simply saying no to animal products. It’s the easiest and fastest way to make a real difference to animal welfare.

You may never see the impact of your diet, but just know that it makes a difference. There will be pigs, chickens, and opinions that come to life simply because you decided to make more empathetic food choices.

If you can encourage others to go vegan, you can make an even bigger difference! Spreading the word about veganism can be an amazing way to become an animal advocate.

Email Representatives

Another thing you can do for animal welfare is to email and get in touch with representatives.

Who you decide to contact will depend on your goals. Is there anything that should be banned or cruelty to animals happening somewhere? Depending on the issue, you’ll need to find the right people to email.

It may not seem like much, but it can really have a huge impact, especially if you manage to get more people to email the same rep. This will put more pressure on them, especially if they have the ability to change what you ask of them.

Make sure you do your research and know who to contact, or you’ll end up wasting your time.

Organize a drive

Another amazing thing you can do for animal welfare is to organize a drive. There are all kinds of outings you can organize, from pet outings to shelter outings to endangered species outings.

If you’re running a shelter campaign to help support your local shelters, you’ll need to get all their details and the items they need. Then you can disseminate this information within your community. This can be done with posters, banners or using social media.

If you wanted to do something like organize an endangered species campaign. You would need to research the species you are most concerned about and find petitions to sign and people to contact. Then spread this information as much as you can. To encourage others to sign the petitions, do their research and contact people who can have an impact.

These types of trips can make such a difference and yet they can all be arranged from the comfort of your own home!
