Poop in the Park a Langley animal welfare fundraiser – Aldergrove Star

Three groups come together to make noise for charity.

Douglas Park will be filled with music on Saturday, August 27 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The public is invited to stop by for Poop in the Park, an event facetiously named for what organizers hope will be an annual fundraiser.

“We have three bands set up for the day each playing two sets of music,” said Chris Sigouin, the organizer and a musician.

Featured are Note2Self, Casual Jack and Time Machine.

Sigouin noted that Time Machine manages sound and donated the use of equipment for all bands.

“Everything is 100% given,” he said.

The music will be classic rock from the 60s to today.

“We are all friends and have been playing music together for 30 years,” Sigouin explained.

During the COVID shutdowns, there wasn’t much to do and there were no opportunities to perform live, so when society started to reopen, bands talked about options.

“We’re just deciding to see if we can do something between ourselves,” he said.

They also decided they wanted a charity element and contacted the Langley Animal Protection Society. People who appreciate music are invited to support the cause.

“We are all animal lovers. As a local charity, we wanted to involve them,” added Sigouin.

People are welcome to bring their dogs on a leash and of course they have to clean up after them.
