The Shadyside property has abducted 90 dogs; Some found dead on stage

(WTRF) – At the request of the Belmont County Animal Rescue League (BCARL), the ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) 90 neglected mixed breed dogs were removed from a property in Shadyside.

The animals were removed from a house on Old New Cut Road.

The dogs were exposed to dangerous levels of ammonia and dead dogs were also found at the scene.

Some animals had serious untreated medical conditions, including puncture wounds, scars and painful eye problems, and several puppies and dogs required emergency transport to receive intensive care.

“Working alongside law enforcement and animal welfare professionals to assist in cases of cruelty and neglect is a key part of ASPCA’s work to improve the lives of animals in communities across the country. Said Teresa Ladner, Senior Director of Investigations for the ASPCA Legal Advocacy & Investigations Team. “While many dogs rescued today will require medical and behavioral treatment, we are grateful to work with the BCARL and the Belmont County District Attorney’s Office to keep these neglected animals safe and provide them with care and attention. essentials they deserve.

“When we started investigating this case, we quickly realized that a rescue of this magnitude would tax our resources,” said Howard Goldman, BCARL’s COO. “We recognized the importance of acting quickly, so we reached out to the ASPCA for assistance which has since been instrumental in this matter. We are grateful to have also received the cooperation of local law enforcement from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office, Adult Protective Services and other Belmont County entities. ”
